Memories that hang on the wall and help

Slovakia has beautiful nature, but one walk in the mountains will also show you a sad sight – missing forests, reckless logging, forest disasters. These are exactly the things that inspired us to create Poustrs. Posters that help. At launch, we sent part of every sale to organizations that protect our nature. In total, that came to more than €30,000.

The best of forgotten screen printing

We printed Poustrs on large screen-printing machines that still remember the Czechoslovak era. We found them on a random visit to a print shop and gave them a new life. So every Poustr is not only an original design, but also a celebration of honest craft.

Paper
Woodstock 225 g paper with 80% recycled fibres and 20% elemental chlorine-free virgin pulp, with an interesting texture. FSC certified, of course. It does not crease, and the colour will not fade for at least 50 years. Supplier: Fedrigoni.
Packaging
In a cardboard box. Frame and mount not included.
Upcycling programme
Not sure what to do with the box? Unpack your Poustr carefully, bring the box to our next event and we will reuse it. As a thank-you, you can take home one of our sold-out prints in a smaller A5 format. Completely free. Follow our social media for more info.

Carbon footprint

Even a paper poster has a footprint. We calculated it for the whole of 2025 and divided it per item: DEFRA 2025 emission factors, transport by parcels, services and marketing by spend (GHG Protocol). We keep refining the method together with our suppliers.

What we do about it

We print in Slovakia and Czechia. No air freight. Our warehouse sits next to the printer in Orava, so finished products do not travel for nothing.
We do not shrink-wrap diaries one by one. We use bulk packaging to cut down on plastic.
We ship in recycled cardboard and, when we can, in boxes our suppliers sent us goods in.
For trips and small transfers we book shared transport and BlaBlaCar.
We print to pre-orders. If something does not sell, it does not end up in the bin but in our outlet or in schools.

What you can do

Order more things at once. One parcel instead of three.
Choose a pickup point or locker instead of home delivery. So the courier does not drive out for a single parcel.
Buy second quality and sale items. We also work with production seconds. Everything usable is cheaper in our second quality section. You save money and rescue something that would not get a chance elsewhere.
Buy only what you will really use. The smallest footprint belongs to the diary that never had to be made.
